By the decision of Clanbase Chiefs, I will be supervisor for EuroCup XX season. Killerboy and mundus will be supporting me. So, when you know the crew, time to know some rules.

First of all, I would like to say that you need at least 8 players to pretend to be invited. Create clan property named "Players for EC" / Fall 2009 or something similar and include at least 8 players there. You have to have 8 players who aren't on such field in any other clans !! THAT'S FOR OC CLANS AS WELL !!

While signing up, in the field "notes for supervisors", enter league you want to play ( EC / OC Premier/ OC 2nd, etc). Include any additional info ( clan's achievements eg). which might be helpful for us while making groups.

If your clan does not have at least 3 players which played in EuroCup ( at least groupstage), you cannot rate yourself as 10. If you do so, your team will be excluded from Fall 2009 season.

Please remember that we have a right to exclude any clan!

Clans will be chosen by watching on several things, including:

- stability
- activity
- estimated skill
- achievements (CB EC/OC seasons, CB 6o6 ladders, ESL 6o6 cups, Warleagues, ETMasters, Miscellaneous)
- might be smth more; the most important are published

Expect I will definitely give some chance for clans already existing pretty long, active and with some kind of results.

What are "Miscellaneous" games?

If you pretend to play in EuroCup / EuroCup qualifier, you can invite me or Killerboy to spectate your game. We will connect only if you and your opponent plays under tags ( means clans only) and valid nicknames. Any try of faking will result in excluding clan from Fall 2009 season.

6th map will be chosen on a special meeting ( By invitation Only!).

OpenCup mappool:

8th map will be chosen on a special meeting ( By invitation Only!)

First 3 matchweeks of OpenCup will be played EXACTLY on the same maps as EuroCup, so that it will be easier to find an opponent.

I'm going to invite 2 players from several TOP clans to discuss a couple of things I feel that they need to be discussed. The meeting will most likely take place on 9/10 th September.

Meeting agenda:

- viewing maps: fun beach final and snatch3 with shown objective ( by myself ) and discussion about usefulness of those maps.

Current options: fun beach final / snatch3 / dubrovnik

- voting for 6th map for EuroCup ( choose between adlernest and missile_b2)

Note: if there is a group of at least 8 players who wants to add a map to voting, map will be added.
Note2: if you aren't present on viewing maps period, you are NOT allowed to vote.

If a frequency on that meeting is poor, expect new map in mappool then.

It is possible that in this year formula will be changed. Traditionally, some clans were receiving direct invitations and some were fighting for rest of the spots in 1-match elimination. In Fall 2009, it can go by different way.

4 clans directly invited to EuroCup, 16 clans invited to EC Qualifiers. Winners of qualifiers - in number of 8 teams will go to EC groupphase. 8 clans which lost their game make 4 pairs - some kind of loser bracket final- winners will get remaining 4 spots.I have gone further. While 8 losers will be fighting for remaining 4 spots, 8 winners will make 4 pairs. Why's that? Direct invitations will give poule 1. Winners from winners poule 2. Losers from winners poule 3. And winners from losers poule 4. That means more games, more public poules.

Differences: traditional way - more clans involved in EC, proposal - loser bracket.

I have honestly no idea what will future bring. First of all, it's closely related to the quantity of signups. Also, I am completely obliqued to CB Chiefs decision ( if they allow EC Qualis in other way).

That might mean that EC Quali teams will have to play 2 games in 10 days period. I am also speaking about possibility to extend EC Qualis time period to 14 days ( and maybe longer quali trees then).

I will be able to give further info after the signups are done.

From this place, I would like to ask all clans to signup as soon as possible ( especially those TOP teams, so that I'll know who to invite to a meeting). Please read this newspost carefully, check, if you have valid pb guid entered ( if not, upload it asap!).

I'm not available on the first two weekends of September and I won't have time for you till the end of this month- I am busy with my uni stuff.

Everybody is wondering who will be invited to participate in EuroCup XX. You will know the answer on 13th September. But! I'm seriously thinking about changing qualifiers process. At the moment there are 3 possibilities:

1) "Traditional" one - some clans directly invited, remaining spot taken by winners of qualifiers match.

2) 4 clans directly invited to EuroCup, 16 clans invited to EC Qualifiers. Winners of qualifiers - in number of 8 teams will go to EC groupphase. 8 clans which lost their game make 4 pairs - some kind of loser bracket final- winners will get remaining 4 spots.I have gone further. 3) 1 team with direct invitation ( Afterlife), 20 clans for EC Qualifiers -> 10 winners. 10 losers = 5 pairs = loser bracket final -> 5 remaining spots.

First one won't be discussed further- it was always that method. 2nd one means actually less clans given direct+invitations. Why's that? Let's say - 6 clans direct invitations + 10 Qualis means 26 clans. 4 direct invitations + 12 Qualis means 28 clans. 4 direct, 8 quali pairs upper bracket means 20 clans participating. Third option means 1 direct + 10 Quali pairs = 21 clans.

So main disadvantages for 2) and 3) are less clans participating on EC level and the main problem - CB Chiefs ( mostly Chandler) needs to agree on that way.

Main advantages of 2) and 3) is the fact that you may be unlucky and face the strongest team, so even if you lose, you got 1 more match to get into EC groupstage.

Because there is time to play EC Qualis between 14 and 24 September, I guess, it will be possible to play 2 games in that period.

Well, it's the first ( and a last) time since I am a sup at EC/OC season. By the look of Chandler's decisions, I'll be a sup for EC. I got no clue how many teams will get a direct invitations. There are many ideas coming into my mind right now. Starting from like 4 direct and 12 qualis, so that more clans will get a chance to play EC quali, since it might be the last season with some good teams in it. Ending on 8 direct and 8 qualis, since there won't be many clans deserving to play that. But that's the smallest problem- everything will be solved out when signups list will be closed.

The problem is with maps. I've got an idea how to make it easier to decide for me and actually how to co-operate with community. I'm going to collect few members from clans invited to EC/EC quali and discuss map possibilities. That, I believe, should give me the best view of community's opinion.

So far, I've decided to keep 4 maps: goldrush, radar, supply and bremen. Remaining 2 will be taken in 99% from maps:
- delivery
- adlernest
- missile
- dubrovnik
- fun beach final.

I think it will be easier to convince Donex to own ideas than ever. Even he's getting more offline.

By the first look, sos secret weapon and karsiah ain't accepted by the most as a competition maps. What I'd like to do is to make people connect to a server with fun beach final on it, explain objective and discuss if it's worth to try a new map in the mappool. It's an old map,  some of you may remember it from public times.
I'd need to think about map choices by clans invited as well. The first idea is to get 2-3 players from each clan, show'em fun beach final, have a bit of discussion. Then, collect votes- 2 maps out of 5 to be chosen. Of course, it is possible that any other map will jump in, but I don't think clans will surprise me that much.

I haven't spoken with Killerboy yet, but I think we'll make 6 maps for OC as well ( same maps @ EC) and same matchweeks or smth like that.

Maybe it would be good idea to ask clans about days they can play before making groups? I could be more accurate @ less games rescheduled / wildcarded.
